What / Why :

"Situated in the heart of the city, the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) is an innovative public contemporary art gallery with facilities which include several large spaces for temporary art exhibitions. It features an auditorium, art library, meeting rooms,  multi- function  hall, gift shops and F&B outlets.
The Building was designed by Architect Robert G. Boughey and Associates to reflect the dynamism of Thai modern Art. Originally named Bangkok Metropolitan Museum of Contemporary Art (BMOCA), it was renamed to Bangkok Art and Culture Centre before opening.
The Bangkok Art and Culture Centre  was opened in July 2008 with an inaugural exhibition “Always Roaming with a Hungry Heart” of photos by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
The BACC aims to create a meeting place for artists, to provide cultural programmes for the community giving importance to cultural continuity from past to contemporary.
Every month, the Centre offers a series of events such as performance art and music concerts where locals and visitors can spend an interesting and entertaining couple of hours.
The Bangkok Art and Culture Centre  also aims to open new grounds for cultural dialogue, networking, and create new cultural resources from both the public and the private sectors.
