What / Why :

"Khao Kriap Waue is a traditional Thai glutinous rice-based snack food.  It reminds me of making Kueh Kapit aka love letters, a traditional Chinese New Year biscuit.  The batter is poured onto a heated mould and bake over charcoal fire for about half a minute on each side.
The baking process of Khao Kriab or Kriap  is quite similar instead  it uses a pair of bamboo tongs. I hardly find this snack in Bangkok’s  streets except at Ratchada Night Bazaar  and Amphawa Floating Market in Samut Songkram province. It has a pleasant, mildly sweet (rice flour) taste."
