The Art Exhibition of 67 years Kamol Tassananchalee, a Thai National Artist awarded, is set to open for the public from April 2-30, 2011 at Chiang Mai University Art Center. If you have heard the name of "The Artist of two worlds," here comes your chance to visit various masterpiece artworks of Kamol Tassananchalee.

Kamol Tassananchalee is an artist who is regarded as "The Artist of two worlds", as he can create his works creatively and differently from living in Thailand and the United States. His passion in arts started since he was in a young age and has driven him to fulfill his dreams in doing artworks. After finishing his study his study at Srinakharinvirot University, Prasanmit in Bangkok, he furthered his education at Otis Art Institute of Los Angeles, California. Curently, he is both a famous artist and an instructor at University of California in the U.S. specializing in painting and mixed media.

He has received numerous awards from his specializing in painting and mixed media. For example, in 1997 he was selected as a National Artist for Visual Arts followed by his latest awards from Honorary Doctorate Degree in Visual Arts and Eminent Imagine Art from Srinakarinvirot University in Bangkok and Board Officer, Asian Cultural Exchange Association, a non-profit organization from Tokyo. In addition, he was a founder of distinctive foundations which are Thai Art Council in U.S.A./Pacific Asia Museum, Pasadena, California in 1982 and Thai Art Center in Los Angeles, California during 1979-1982.

Kamol Tassananchalee has an interesting opinion towards arts as he said, “Art is a universal. Concepts and ideas are infinite. Therefore, I feel comfortable incorporating ordinary things around me into my artworks. A good foundation with deep culture roots has, without limiting me unduly, provided me a security and strength to pursue my creativity.”
