Thai materials have great potential from the country’s rich natural resources, high quality skills of local workers, and valuable local wisdom. The development of Thai natural materials in a creative way has helped increasing their functionalities while still maintaining their natural characters. Such quality is the key strength of Thai materials. It helps them achieve international standard and attracts the attention of world markets.
Promoting and enhancing the level of global acceptance of Thai materials is one of the main functions of TCDC and Material ConneXion® Bangkok. The selection of Thai materials, using the same criteria as Material ConneXion® Cologne, Milan, New York and Dague, helps promote them in the world markets by ensuring that their quality is comparable to top materials from around the world.
“Thai Materials” exhibition invites you to experience a selection of Thai materials which are exhibited in the 5 worldwide branches of Material ConneXion®. Highlighting the local materials, such as soybean print ink and Tilapia leather sheets, which have successfully tapped into the country’s potential and competed in global markets, the exhibition aims to encourage new discovery and development of materials from the resources Thai people have in abundance.
