How to go :

• By car: From Sukhothai town, take Highway No. 12 (Sukhothai-Tak) and drive for 14 kilometers to the park
• By minibus/tricycle: Take the local bus or hire the motored tricycle from town to the park

 

What / Why :

Ruins of the royal palaces, Buddhist temples, the city gates, walls, moats, dams, ditches, ponds, canals, and the water dyke control system are now preserved and have been restored by the Fine Arts Department with the cooperation of UNESCO. Sukhothai Historical Park is one of the finest examples that shows Thailand’s national identity and mankind’s cultural heritage.
