Bangkok (17 July 2013) – A centre of horologicalsuperbrands, Siam Paragon Shopping Center and Paragon Department Store are set to stage their annual showcase of world-class timepieces. The Siam Paragon Watch Expo 2013 will present more than 200 leading brands and over 30,000 watches under the concept “The Ultimate Time Creation.” On offer will be up to 70% discounts, special promotions and prizes worth over 12 million bahtin total. The event will take place from 24 July to 13 August 2013 at the Hall of Fame, Hall of Mirrors, watch boutiques and Paragon Department Store’s Watch Department on the M Floor and at the Fashion Hall on the 1st Floor, Siam Paragon.

As for this year’s watch trend, watches with complex movements are popular because they are of high quality and durable. Many watch brands are also presenting classic models, ones that were popular in the past and are making a comeback, so collectors can add them to their collections. Gold is a popular material in yellow, pink, rose or platinum. Royal blue is trendy as it is a contemporary and classic colour,” added Jakkrit.
 
Occupying an overall space of over 13,000 sqm, the Siam Paragon Watch Expo is Thailand’s biggest showcase of latest timepieces and innovations which take place only once a year. Already in its 8th edition, this year expo comes with the concept ‘The Ultimate Time Creation,’ inspired by the mastery of fine watch making that embraces aesthetic creativity, innovations and technological advancement. With a budget of over 50 million baht, the event is organised in partnership with Kasikorn Credit Card, Toyota Prius and CharnIssara Development.
 
This year’s expo will feature special presentations and exclusive experiences, in addition to the showcase of masterpieces, luxury and items of the latest trends from over 200 leading brands. The masterpieces represent the ultimate creations of grand complications and sophisticated design led by a Bovet Récital 9 Tourbillon Miss Alexandra, Bovet’s lady tourbillon watch priced at over 9 million baht, a limited edition of 50 pieces. The model is equipped with a moon phase and filled with a luminescent substance so that the dial appears to be naturally studded with stars. Featured also will be the Thailand debut of Franck Muller Skeleton Tourbillon, an elegant skeleton watch priced at 7 million baht, the first watch in Franck Muller’s history without a dial where all the components and mechanism are clearly visible. UlysseNardin Freak Phantom, a part of “Freak” collection which is the world’s first handless watch, this latest gadget for men is also independent of dial and winder. Hours and minutes are displayed by its carousel tourbillon movement.
 
Luxury watches to be showcased are Piaget Limelight tonneau-shaped watch. The luxurious lady wristwatch is encrusted with 979 fine diamonds weighs 10.1 karat worth over 6 million baht.Corum Ti-Bridge Lady, the feminine hand-wound mechanical features horizontal baguette movement held in place by four diamond-set cross-bars worth over 700,000 baht. Harry Winston Midnight Monochrome presents an outstanding characteristic of its dial developed a new technique far removed from the usual watchmaking finishes to create a plate with a truly slate-like effect which guarantees a degree of longevity. The automatic silver white shade lady model is priced over 9 million baht.Also showcased are The classic Grand Seiko 44 GS Limited Edition; contemporary sports-style stainless steel collector’s items.A sporty skeletonishMaurice Lacroix Masterpiece Le Chronograph Squelette,Longines’ La Grand Classique de Longines 100 Diamonds is decorated with 100 diamonds surrounding the case. andTechnomarineBlack Reef which has limited edition etched on the case back and which is water resistant up to 500 metres.
 
Featured in the Trend category areOrisAqvis Depth Gauge, a revolution for professional divers, and Seiko’s Monster Power Blue of which only 740 pieces are available in Thailand. CharriolAel lady watch, named after the Celtic word for angel: ‘Ael,’ the light and whimsical timepiece is available exclusively at the Expo.
 
In addition, there is a special exhibition from BOVET featuring watch craftsmen who will carve every watch piece and assemble it. Watch lovers can observe the art and science of watch making closely on 24 and 25 July 2013. Maurice Lacroix will showcase its exceptional watch, which received the world renowned Red Dot Design Award for six consecutive years, its in-house watch-making machine which shows the complicated process of creating superior quality watches, and its latest collection for the first time.
 
Other exclusive experiences include a private viewing gala night for VIP watch lovers, and private shopping sessions offered by ST Dimension and Omega. The top spender will win a 2 pax business class tickets and trip to Switzerland to visit the workshops of the most well-known watchmakers in the world including Frank Muller, Omega and UlysseNardin. Other top spenders with minimum 5 million baht purchase will receive travel packages valued over 600,000 baht. Many more special deals are also offered at the expo.
 
The list of over 200 leading watch brands to be featured in the expo includes Baume & Mercier, Bedat& Co, Bentley, Blancpain, Bovet, Breguet, Breitling, Cadeaux, Corum, Franck MullerFleurier, Graham, Harry Winston, Hublot, Louis Erard, Maitres du Temps, Maurice Lacroix, Montblanc, Parmigiani, Piaget, Ralph Lauren, Romain Jerome, Tiffany & Co, UlysseNardin, Zenith and many more. The Swiss high-end watch brand Armin Strom will also be introduced in Thailand for the first time at this event.
 
At the press conference, a presentation of highlighted watch was featured by celebrities including ML Rangsitorn Bhanubandhu, NattapolChulangkul, KanachaiBencharongkul, Natprapa and NatmadaChoonhavan and NandhiniAmranand. Star actresses Patcharapa “Aum” Chaichue,Morakot “Amy”Kittisara and actor Saran “Porshe” Sirilak also presented the most distinguished watches.
 
Saran “Porshe” Sirilak presented a masterpiece TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 36 Flyback. The unique double-scale dial design is directly inspired by vintage Heuer stopwatches. The case is a showcase of high-end Swiss craftsmanship which give a balanced mix of sportiness and refinement. The new “H-shaped” bracelet design, in fine brushed and polished multifaceted steel,is superbly ergonomic. It is also available with a black alligator strap.
Representing luxurywas Patcharapa “Aum” Chaichue with a Harry Winston Signature Lace, an ultra-luxurious timepiece for lady worth over 10 million baht. The haute timepiece is decorated with 647 fine diamonds weighs 21.55 in total. The case is 18K polished white gold set with 639 brilliant-cut diamond. The dial is white mother-of -pearl dial set with 8 diamonds indexes. Complimented the high profile watch is a set of Pigeon’s blood ruby jewellry from Blue River valued over90 million baht. The rare blood-red ruby is the brightest and most precious and is regarded as the queen of gemstone. 
 
Morakot “Amy”Kittisara wore trendy Toywatch Glitter Collection that combines simple and essential lines with the sophistication of crystal fabric made by Swarovski elements, which is applied to the strap and dial of the watch. 
 
Siam Paragon Watch Expo 2013 offers Other deals and prizes amount to over 12 million baht. These include up to 70% discounts, gift vouchers or mileage accrual from Thai Airways International and coupons of a lucky draw to win a Baan ThewTalay condominium unit worth 5 million baht for every 2,000-baht spending. Shoppers can enjoy up to 29% on top discount when paying with a Kasikorn credit card and special privileges from other credit card companies.
