• Muang Chakangrao, on the east bank of the Ping River

• Muang Nakhon Chum, on the west bank of the Ping River, including ancient sites such as the Kamphaeng Pom Thung Sethi
• Muang Trai Trueng with the Chedi and ramparts
• Wat Phra Kaeo Temple, Wat Phra Si Iriyabot, Wat Phra Sing, Wat Phra Borom, Wat Chang Rop and Wat Phra Non

Activity :

• Take a bicycle tour or a mini-tram ride around the park
• Take a tour of the outlying ruins along the river banks


How to go :

• By car: From Bangkok, take Highway No. 32 to Nakhon Sawan via Ayutthaya, Ang Thong and Sing Buri and then proceed along Highway No. 1 to Kamphaeng Phet (total distance of 358 kilometers, travel time 4 hours)
• By bus: Take a bus from Bangkok Bus Terminal


What / Why :

Kamphaeng Phet Historical Park is an archeological site, which was an important city of Sukhothai Kingdom from 13th-18th century. It was declared as a part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1991. Major features of Kamphang Phet Historical Park include archaeological remains of ancient sites.
